Kalliope Jewelry

About Us

Kalliope Jewelry, named and inspired by the Greek goddess of poetry and eloquence, was founded in 2007 by Amy and Christopher Allen-Baker. We're a husband and wife team, all of the jewelry is designed and handmade by us. We’ve been collaborating on art and jewelry for over 15 years.

Our focus is to exalt the intrinsic beauty of the gemstones by combining them with hand-chosen elements, creating contemporary jewelry with poetic elegance and a modern sensibility.

 Bio

Christopher received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is a LEED Accredited professional, and has designed green schools for the Pennsylvania school system. His training in space, form, and tectonics provide the unique structural components of our jewelry.

Amy has worked with ceramics and mixed media, and attended the Penland School of Crafts for metal forming. Her handmade beads and jewelry have been exhibited in galleries and craft shows across the United States. Her expertise in color, texture, and mixed elements provide the visual poetry of our jewelry.

Our collaborative art and jewelry has been featured in several art shows and galleries, including: the Wayne Art Center, Wayne, PA; the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Gatlinburg, TN; the South Shore Art Center, Cohasset, MA; the Kellogg University Art Gallery, Pomona, CA; and the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art. Our butterfly necklace, ‘The Empress’, received a ‘Judges Favorite’ award in the Fire Mountain 2008 Beading Contest.
